It’s spring break.

I have a week off from classes but I won’t be doing much playing since I’m working every day from 7:45-1:30 and then in the evening from 5:15-8:45 because the other two part time girls took off. I don’t mind because it means a bigger paycheck for me which in turns means I’ll finally get to do something for myself; perhaps a new haircut and style or maybe I’ll look at some electronic toys…who knows. Most of the money will go into savings but it’s been quite sometime since I last did something for myself or treated myself to something.

As far as the rest of the week goes, I’m going to try and sleep as much as I can between working and look forward to the weekend when my dad and them get back from South Carolina with my bed :)

Exams week and vacation.

Tomorrow is stop day which means the end of classes which means that Monday is the start of exam week. I have four exams next week but luckily all of mine are scheduled at one per day so I can study and concern on one thing at a time. My math final is on Monday, Western Civilization on Tuesday, Research Methods on Wednesday and Child Psychology on Thursday. After that, I’m off to South Carolina on Friday until the 29th and picking up Alan at 10:30pm on the 29th when he arrives in Kansas City; he’ll be here until January 8th, so I have a pretty busy schedule until then.

Not only that but I am 98% sure that I got the job I interviewed for on Tuesday. I’ll be working as a child care attendant taking care of children while their mothers undergo treatment for drug and alcohol abuse and/or work in the community. I’m working in a day care setting but it’s not an actual day care but rather a place where these mothers live while receiving treatment for their problems and they get to keep their children with them. I’m really excited about it because it goes along with my psychology/sociology work from school and it’s about time that I find something that will give me good work experience in the field I study. I should start the job around the 12th of January; it really depends on how quick all the background check and paper work gets done.

I’m hoping that after I start working it won’t take me long to save up some money so that I can get regular Internet through my cable company so I don’t have to deal with this crappy wireless anymore. I also want to save up so I can build a new PC that doesn’t have problems and wants to crash all the time and also save for a laptop. Good thing I don’t have a home theater system, otherwise I’d have to save up for home theater seating as well…but mainly my money will be going into savings for awhile so I can rebuild my funds since I’m completely broke.

i need a vacation.

The last few weeks have been pretty stressful for God knows what reason, I have yet to figure it out but I trust that if/when I do find out what’s been causing me to cry at the drop of a hat or get irritated/pissed off at the most stupid of things then I’ll fix it…until then, I really want a vacation. There’s a local radio station that’s been doing a contest to give away plane tickets for 2, 2 night stay and 2 tickets to some concert in the Bahamas – too bad I haven’t been listening on a regular basis otherwise I’d call in to see if I could win (you have to correctly guess the cost of the package to the tee in order to win). Not only does the Bahamas sound nice but so does a royal caribbean cruise, sigh if ONLY I had the money :P Maybe another day…until that day comes, I shall sit here and try to relax in good ol’ South Carolina /rolleyes.

Christmas Vacation Trip!

Alan booked and bought his ticket to Charleston today and I couldn’t be more excited than I already am. He’ll arrive in Charleston on the 26th at 11:30pm and leave on January 1st at 6am – sure the times aren’t the greatest but it was the only way to keep the price under $400 even though we’re splitting it down the middle. I’m happy either way that I’ll be with my lover again, and that he’ll be able to meet my family. It’s been a VERY VERY long time since any family members have had to deal with me having a boyfriend and them having to meet someone new, so it will be rather interesting especially considering the circumstances in which we meet but you know what…I’m happy and that’s all that matters :) I’m off to watch Private Practice in a few hours and probably work on the Christmas theme that I hope to get done before December!

What a short week!

I only have class two days this week and have Wednesday – Friday off for Thanksgiving holiday – man am I looking forward to some good food on Thursday :) I’ve been busy since last night playing Super Mario Galaxy, if you have a Wii I would HIGHLY suggest picking up this game – it’s TOO much fun!! This coming week Alan will be buying his plane ticket to come here, I’m so very excited that I’ll see him next month and he’ll get to meet my family. If he hadn’t had to close his checking account the other day due to some issues at his bank, then we’d be well on his way but he wanted to wait until he got paid this week to go and open a new account at a different bank. I can’t believe how expensive it is to fly out during the holidays but like with my trip to Michigan, we’ll be splitting things down the middle – it’s really nice to be able to do that :) I think I’m going to take a break from the Wii and take a nap, I didn’t go to bed until 6am this morning partly from playing the Wii and partly because I slept all day yesterday so I wasn’t tired come sleep time, haha.

He called!

I was lying in my bed around 6pm when my phone rang and showed a random out of area number that I didn’t recognize and so I didn’t pick it up – I hate when random people call my phone because it always ends up being a wrong number or something. I figured if it was important they’d leave a message, they didn’t. A few minutes later, my phone rang again and this time showed up as Unavailable so I picked it up; the person on the other end said hey, hey! and it didn’t register in my mind who it was on the other end…then I realize it was Alan! I started crying like a baby :P It was so good to hear from him and made me so happy because it was what I least expected since his cell doesn’t work out there. He found a phone card machine and got a phone card to call me, he said that he had been looking for the library that apparently has a computer + Internet in it but hasn’t been able to locate it because he was going to email me.

He’s having a really nice time out in the Bahamas which is good and missing me at the same time ;) Even though he’s 19, he’s legal to drink over there so he’s been kicking back and enjoying himself…and behaving, lol. He told me that he’s been the casino a couple of times, staying away from poker tables but going for the slot machines – he won $1000!! I’m glad he’s having a great time but can’t wait until he comes home…I miss him. I told him that he can’t go anywhere like this again and if he does, he’s taking me with him (half joking, half being serious, lol); he said that he’s going to talk to his dad at a later time to see if maybe him and I can use the timeshare in a few years for a vacation. Next year, his dad is taking his sister and her family to the Bahamas and so we’d have to wait until what, 2009? Anyways, I’m just glad I got to hear his voice I was so excited, now I can get through the next three days without any major problems :)

I’m off to watch 1408 with my mom since the movie is due back this week, have a good night!

Gone for a week.

Today, Alan left for Paradise Island for a week long vacation with his family – in case you don’t know where Paradise Island is, it’s in the Bahamas :P Anyways…I’m a little sad to say the least. For the first time in four months (how long we’ve been dating) and for the first time since we started talking with the exception of me going to Florida and Kansas for a week in May, this is our longest time “apart” without talking at ALL. Going out of the country means his cell phone doesn’t work and so we don’t get to talk and while it sounds really needy and such, we’ve talked to each other every day and every night for the past four months, not a day has gone by without talking at least once and now for a week we don’t have that.

Sure, it’ll be a good “break” for the both of us, he’ll be able to relax from work and have some nice vacation time on the beach and I’ll be busy with two interviews next week and HOPEFULLY starting a new job but it’s weird when you are so use to doing something every day that when you don’t have it…it almost feels empty. It’s not like he’s gone on vacation to Branson Missouri or some other place in the United States where his cell would work, but he’s left the country! :( I do hope he has a great time and I am jealous of the fact that he’s in the BAHAMAS but in the end, I’ll still miss him until he comes home next Saturday and I know he’ll miss me. Him being away and feeling empty when he’s not there for me to talk too only allows me to see even more how much I feel for him – we have an amazing relationship and I honestly couldn’t be happier and I know he feels the same :heart:
