I took my first photography class when I was in ninth grade and feel absolutely in love with it; I didn’t take another photography class, however, until I started college in which I made it to photography 2 and then stopped. I would have continued on if I didn’t have to take a boring lighting class in order to take photography 3 and by that point, I needed to take some other courses to bring my GPA up so I opted to pass on photography for awhile – my poor Canon Rebel T2 has been collecting dust in a box in my closet ever since. I really need to take it out and start shooting again, I think that it’ll allow me to relax a lot more when things get kind of crazy. Only thing I wish is that it was a digital SLR that way I didn’t have to spend so much money on film and development, but for now I’ll have to stick with the good ol’ 35mm.

Last night while I couldn’t sleep, I started looking around for some Photoshop actions to bring some more spice to the digital pictures I have taken. I had seen quite a few photographs taken by some others that had been enchanced by these actions and thought they were pretty neat. I found some really great ones that give photos a lomo effect, which I aboslutely love as well as an action that gives a photo an aged look. These are some of the things I came up with:

Before/After
     Â

a brand new SLR Digital Camera, preferably a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. Why? Because it’s a beautiful piece of electronic, photography equipment that I would just love to add to my collection. Not to mention, I’m a fan of Canon products all the way as I own a AE-1 (35mm) camera along with my newest addition a Canon Rebel T2 (35mm) so I know they make reliable, well made prodcuts. As a second year photography student, I can say that photography is one of my favorite hobbies, however, I have yet to really venture far into the realms of digital photography (my photography classes were film based). I currently own a Samsung Digimax A7 (a 7MP camera) which is a great point and shoot camera if you’re taking random shots here & there or ata family event, or just to take candid photographs that can be printed out later and used in scrapbooking; however it’snot exactly the kind of camera I would love to own if I decided to get into digital photography in a more active way. Not to mention, my mom has pretty much claimed the camera as hers even though it was a Christmas gift to me from last Christmas…she uses the thing more than I do!

I have experimented with my current camera and it does take some really nice shots but having a nice SLR system like the Canon Digital Rebel XTi would allow me to take bigger and better photographs, not to mention I can change lenses which is a great thing as I would really love to get into macro photography. The great thing that I love about the Canon Digital Rebel XTi is that the lenses are interchangeable with those used on the 35mm SLR cameras Canon sells, which means that I can buy a lens for my Canon Rebel T2 (35mm) and use that same lens on the Digital Rebel, not only saving money but getting twice the use out of it! Oh…to have such a nice camera like such, one can wish right?
