New haircut.

Yesterday, I had an appointment at the salon for a haircut and I’m so glad that I decided to spend a little extra to get my hair done there rather than at some other place. The stylist, Kimmy, was awesome with a great personality. I told her that I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I needed something different and that I’ve pretty much kept my hair the same length and style for the last year or so, only changing it once and I didn’t like it. I told her I was open to anything as long as the length didn’t go any shorter than right above my shoulders; I hate having short hair. Anyways…here are the results (the first picture is pretty much how it looked when I went in today, although this picture wasn’t taken today but some time ago & I happened to be wearing the same shirt!)

BeforeAfter

She added a bang to it which I love and add some more layers and cut it shorter. I’m in love with it but of course, it’ll never look the way it did today after I wash it because I can never style it the same. She also convinced me to get my eyebrows done which I had never had done at a salon before; I always did them myself at home by tweezing. It was an experience for sure. It didn’t hurt but made my eyes water and I was surprised that they looked so much different and better when they were done. That’s something I’ll definitely keep paying $12 to get done whenever it’s needed.

I talked to her about doing highlights to liven up the color some and she agreed and told me we could do either a carmel color or a reddish brown color that would look nice. I’m going to think about it some more since getting color done is fairly pricey and perhaps make an appointment when I get paid at the beginning of April. I also get a boost of confidence after I get my hair done because it always makes me feel really good and pretty. Now I wish I could figure out the makeup aspect of things; I use to wear makeup all the time when I was in junior high but as I got older my acne got worse and I stopped wearing it because it irritated my face. I was never taught how to do makeup the correct way or how to style my hair because my mom is a get up and good type person who hardly does these things herself. I always feel like a clown when I wear makeup; I feel like my colors are off especially with the foundations and such. I might have to check into the makeup consulation they offer for free at the salon and see if they can’t help!

Anyways, I’m off to bed. Thank gosh last week is over and I’ll be back to my normal schedule plus classes starting today. I don’t have to work tomorrow night but I do have to work in the morning and afternoon and I have Friday off this weekend which is great. Now if I could just get these assignments about conversion rate optimization out of the way I’d be a happy camper.

Chocolate Velvet.

Is the name of the hair color I bought earlier. I decided that I was tired of looking at my seven month old (got them in February) highlights that are grown out half way; it’d take too long for them to completely grow out and I am missing my natural dark brown hair. Hopefully, the color will take to the highlights well and I won’t have any issues with it looking funny. Right now, the dye is setting in my hair and I’ll wash it out in about 10 minutes! :)

Animal Jewelry.

I am a fan of cats and a fan of dogs, I think horses are beautiful animals and I’d like to one day swim with dolphins but I don’t think I enjoy animals so much that I would actually wear animal jewelry. However, my great grand mother seems to incorporate such jewelry into her wardrobe all the time whether it be a bracelet with lady bugs on it or abrooch featuring a hummingbird which sheabsolutely loves. Perhaps, it is because I don’t wear much jewelry outside of my earrings but the Jungle Store jewelry shop actually has some really nice pieces from bracelets, to charms, to necklaces and earrings which would make cute gifts for any animal lover!
