The Fall 2010 semester starts on Thursday at the University of Kansas which means that since the middle of last week and more recently this past weekend, the college students have been pouring in. You can tell the difference in town when everyone comes back from summer break because the traffic gets backed up and it takes you about 10-15 minutes to get across town. I don’t mind it as it is something I’ve gotten use too and I once was one of those college students too. It feels strange to not have to prepare for a new semester; the feeling is bittersweet. I was excited when I graduated in May and felt a sense of relief when I knew it was all over but at the same time, I was sad because as much as I didn’t want to go to class most of the time, I did enjoy it. I definitely didn’t light up a fuente cigars as I left that to my dad when he celebrated my graduation and I won’t light one up any time soon. Hopefully though these feelings won’t last long and I’ll be able to call myself a student once again when I enter graduate school. I am in the process of getting all my application materials in line and getting letters of recommendation. I have until February of 2011 to apply for the Master of Social Work program at KU and I would start in the Fall of 2011 if accepted. I am looking forward to the future in regards to my school situation and will be keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out. Until that time, I will be working full time and try to occupy my time with hobbies that I haven’t had much time for like photography!

I heard there’s a big port-a-potty debate going on in Lawrence…
‘Course, I live in Missouri and don’t make it to Lawrence very often.
