I don’t know if I mentioned before but I am staying in Kansas for the summer rather than going back to South Carolina. I made this decision based solely on the fact that I have a job and I can’t up and leave for two and a half months. I am okay with this except on days when it’s really nice outside and I wish I was at my grand mother’s house swimming in the pool. I was never a beach person, except when we lived in Hawaii and I was at the beach every day (I think it has to do with the fact that beaches in Hawaii are so nice compared to SC), so the pool was the next best thing. I also wish I was home for the summer when I’ve had a long, stressful day at work…sometimes, I wonder if I made the right decision to stay or if I should have told my boss I’d be back after summer break was over. Usually, someone in my family always rents a beach house for a few weeks out of the summer and most times that beach house is located at Folly Beach but it’d be nice to go back home and make an Outer Banks rentals just to have some nice relaxing, fun with my family.
Even though, I won’t be going home for the summer, my mom will be here the week of July 12th-18th to celebrate my brother’s 21st birthday which is July 9th. I’ll be able to make it alittle longer without seeing everyone since she is coming for the week. I think we’re going to try and go to Worlds of Fun while she is here and I’m going to take off that Thursday and Friday that she’s in town as well since I do need the hours and money and I already requested off a week and two days in August for when Alan, hopefully, comes to visit. I hope we have a good time while she’s here because the last time she was here was for Thanksgiving and it didn’t go so well. We’ll see!
