This friend that I have, we’ll call her S from here on out, is absolutely driving me insane. It never stops. Her latest thing is asking me if I’ll do her Orientation to Psychology course for her and that if I do, she’ll pay me. This is a 102 course that goes over the basics of the psychology major and what is required of you in terms of courses, time frames said courses should be taken in, information about graduate school etc.

It’s required that all psychology majors complete the course because you can’t apply for the major until it’s done. The course is an online course and is down outside of class and consists of about 10-12 quizzes over information provided to you and 8 activities where you research information about scholarships, jobs and the like. We’ve been signed up for this course since LAST semester; I finished mine in one day before break last semester and I’ve already received credit for it. She hasn’t even started hers because she claims she doesn’t have enough time to do it between work and her other classes.

To be quite honest, she’s lazy. She doesn’t want to put forth the effort to do her work like she should. She makes it seem like she’s bogged down with all this other stuff with other classes that it leaves no time for this course. Well maybe that is so and with her being Persian, her classes that involve reading take 10x longer because of the language barrier but that still isn’t an excuse when she’s been signed up for the 102 course since LAST semester. She’s asked me multiple times if I’d do it for her and she’d pay me because she needs to get it done before the end of this semester otherwise she’ll have to pay for it again. I told her no because I have my own work to do and even if I said yes, it’d leave me no time to do my own stuff.

She apparently got laid off from work last week so she should have plenty of time now to work on the course herself, especially since last week she complained that all she’s been doing is sitting at home bored out of her mind because she doesn’t have somewhere to go and socialize anymore. She’s driving me nuts and it makes me want to take a Vegas vacations just to get away from her. Telling her no doesn’t seem to work and she doesn’t seem to get the picture that I have my own life, with my own work and my own school work to do…I can’t be doing shit for her and I wouldn’t do it for anyone else either. I won’t let her take advantage of me because she’s lazy and I won’t allow her to cheat by getting someone else to do it. Ugh.
