Thank goodness for a new year.

I hope everyone had a good new years eve and new years day; Alan and I didn’t do much except stay at the apartment and only ventured out to get some vodka and rum from the liquor store. We opted against going out to my dad’s and spending the night there so we’ll be going to see my dad either tomorrow or Sunday. Things have been really nice since Alan arrived with us not doing much but relaxing at the apartment. Neither of us have much money to go out and do things and honestly, I rather just stay at the apartment and just BE with him.

I’m glad 2008 is gone and 2009 is here. I hope and expect 2009 to be a better year not only for myself but for the United States (ie: ECONOMY!). I don’t really have many goals for 2009 but the ones I do have I feel are pretty attainable if I put my mind to it, most of them dealing with school and health while I have other “goals” I want to obtain in terms of things that I want:

  1. Join a gym and start getting healthy
  2. Get all A’s and B’s in my classes – no C’s!
  3. Save up money to buy a digital SLR (Canon XS or XSI)
  4. Save up money to buy a laptop for school
  5. Save up money to buy a mattress set – I’m tired of sleeping on the air mattress
  6. Save up money, in general!

Hopefully, I’ll do good at obtaining these goals and I plan to start as soon as I start my job on the 12th. I will have to save for a few weeks before I can start putting money away for other things and joining the gym since I’m completely broke right now, but I’m just excited and relieved that I HAVE a job which will make things so much easier than they have been the last few months. I’m really glad that I wont’ have to deal with barcode scanners anymore since I’m not working retail and with having the weekends free to work on school work and do my own things is awesome. Here’s to having a good 2009, I hope your’s is just as good.

Great goals, hun! Good luck with achieving them. I hope that 2009 is great for everyone! :D

Caitys last blog post..New beginnings?

Saving money is my plan too. I find that by writing everything down, and saving your plans in a spreadsheet really works. An SLR camera is so worth the money! I’m not sure what order you want to buy in, but I say go for the camera first!

Good luck with the goals! Do you have a plan for how to achieve them? I have this problem where a “goal” is really just another word for a “hope” if I don’t have a plan in place, heh. Anyway, I hope you find a way to make it all happen and more! Have a great new year!
