Electronic want list.

With moving to Kansas just around the corner – literally it’s next week, most likely around August 14th/15th – I’ve been looking at a lot of ads and such for items that I may need. Most of those items include household things like pots and pans, cups and plates, towels and bedsheets; items that are just…kind of boring but very much needed.

Apple MacBook

On the other hand, I’ve also been eyeing some other items that aren’t necessarily a need, but a want. One of those items is an Apple MacBook, which I’ve had my eye on ever since I got to use Alan’s back in December for the first time. I have never owned a laptop and it will definitely come in handy when I go back to class, however, I’ve never had the funds to be able to afford one much less one that I really want. I’ve mentioned wanting a laptop to everyone at some point in time over the past year, but have yet to receive one or purchase one. I am hoping that sometime before or shortly after classes start, I can convince my dad to buy me one or at least help pay for one – he asked me the last time I visited what it was that I wanted and I showed him, so I know he’s had it in the back of his mind…now is the perfect opportunity to get one.

The other electronic that I’ve had my eye on is a new point and shoot digital camera. I’ve owned two different cameras within the last three years, one of them managed to go missing and the other I got as a replacement for the missing one for Christmas. My mom has taken over ownership of the camera we currently have and I always tease her saying that it’s her camera every time she says it’s mine…she uses it the most and keeps it with her for work purposes. There isn’t any particular camera I want, although I’m more apt to lean towards the Canon brand because I’ve worked with their cameras before; perhaps a Canon Powershot will do the trick.

Xbox 360

I also wouldn’t mind having my own Xbox 360 either. Alan brought his with him when he came to visit me in December and in June, and although I didn’t play it much the first time around I enjoyed playing Vivia Pinatas when he was here in June. I currently have a Nintendo Wii which has games that I’m more interested in playing, like Mario and Zelda, but I think it’d be nice to be able to play some of the games Alan likes on co-op mode. Not to mention, it’d be another way to “spend” time with each other which would make me a very happy girl! However, with a $350 price tag I won’t be getting one any time soon…but it’s definitely something I’ll keep in mind for the future. Speaking of which, I preordered the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition ($77 dollars!) game for Alan the other week as a nice gift for him. I wanted it to be a surprised when he first mentioned it to me but since it’s a preorder deal and it’s something he really wants, I had to tell him I got it otherwise he’d go out and buy it himself. It doesn’t release until November, so he has to wait a few months still, but it’ll be a nice early birthday present for him (his birthday is November 27th) and I’ll have to find something else in the mean time.

Trust me. The Macbook is definitely worth the price. At the Apple store, you can even get a student discount.
