Just stuff.

It’s been awhile since I blogged about anything of substance but to be quite honest, things have been pretty boring around here. I started going to the chiropractor last week and have had a total of three adjustments. Come to find out, my neck is more screwed up than I thought it was and it’s a good thing I found out because it’s been bothering me a lot more as of lately; my doctor said it’d take about five years or so to hopefully get it back into the position and curve it’s suppose to be in but I have to make sure I keep going on a regular basis. She is going to try and find me a chiropractor I can go to while I’m away at school and I hope that I can continue going.

Aside from the chiropractor deal, I’ve been busy with work and while I haven’t been working anymore than normal, it sure does feel like it. Lately, they have been giving me a lot of 5-8 hour shifts when I’m use to working only 4.75 hour shifts which makes for a long day. I hate when I’m scheduled from 10am to 5pm because the store is absolutely dead during those times, but I also hate the 1pm to 10pm shifts because you don’t really get to do anything during the afternoon and it’s complete dark out by the time you go home. I can’t complain too much because it’s nice to see those pay checks deposited every two weeks, but man…it gets tiring.

I’ve also been trying to finalize the last few bits of my schooling situation which mainly has to do with housing and getting to where I need to be in time. I finally came to the decision that I will be going back to Kansas and attending the University of Kansas (KU). My dad, step-mom (evil woman!), sister and brother all live in Junction City which is about 2 hours from Lawrence (where KU is located) so while I’m leaving my mom and mom’s side of the family behind in South Carolina, I’ll still have someone around to help me if need be. I’m excited and nervous all at the same time. I look forward to going back to school because it’ll give me something to do and focus on and I’m excited about having my own place. I also realized that moving back to Lawrence will allow me to deal with and finally put to rest any unfinished emotional business that I may have, and I know there are things buried deep inside me that I’ve suppressed for a very long time. It’s time to deal with those things and close those chapters in my life, something I haven’t been given the chance to do because I’ve not been where I needed to be to work on them.

The next two weeks will be interesting for me as I get ready to move and finish up getting ready for school. Hopefully, though I’ll have more interesting things to blog about in the months to come!
