Odd hits in stats.
I check the stats for my site on a daily basis because I’m interested to see where my visitors are coming from and who is visiting at any given time. A lot of them are returning visitors and I can pick out them out just on their IPs or the referring link they are using, however, today I had two entries show up that looked like the referring link was from a email website like hotmail. I clicked on the IP address linked to this hit which gives me normally the state in which the IP is from, this time it said The Gap, Inc. I thought to myself a moment and was like, what the hell? I know I’ve mentioned Old Navy and Gap Inc. on here before because it’s where I work but why would someone be coming from a referring link from an email website and the IP be linked to the company.
I decided after I saw this that anything mentioned about work from this point on would be abbreviated in order to protect identities and anything else that could possibly hurt me should something arise. I’m not paranoid about being caught - hell I’ve done nothing wrong, but we all know what COULD happen if someone from work stumbles onto your site. Old Navy = ON, and names will be abbreviated to first letters only.
