Even though, I completed my Associate of Arts degree last semester and don’t need to take anymore classes I decided that I’d take online classes this semester for a couple of reasons: 1) to keep my health insurance through my dad which is through the military – I have to be enrolled in school full time in order to keep my insurance since I’m 21 and I have a prescription every month that costs $56 without insurance, 2) I figured I’d retake two classes that are F’s on my transcript from my very first semester of college in order to bring my GPA even more, 3) it keeps me busy until I transfer to the next school I’m going too.

While they are all good reasons to take classes, the ones I signed up for have a BUTT load of work to do – Macroeconomics, American History (these two are the ones that I am retaking to get rid of the F’s counting in my GPA), Intermediate Algebra (taking so I can take college algebra later since I need this before I can take college algebra) and Intro to Philosophy (needed an extra class to be full time, so I chose this). I’m a little overwhelmed right now after looking over the assignments I have to do for these classes – aside from math – I have papers I have to write in all them and I’m not exactly sure how to feel about the math class because even though it’s online, I have to go to the campus to take the tests and we can’t use calculators – I’m so bad at math it isn’t even funny. I think I’ll be okay though, just not sure what to think right now. I’ll be going to campus probably tomorrow or Wednesday (day off from work) to pick up my books and get started on everything.

Not only have I started another semester of classes but I also received an email from the University of Kansas saying that I had been admitted for the Spring 2008 semester. Of course, classes start on the 17th of January there which is next week and there is no way in hell I’d even be able to make it out there by then if I wanted to go to KU, but it’s nice to know that I can get in with my new GPA/grades from last semester. KU will be a back up school if I don’t get into Michigan State which is where I really want to go – they have completed my application file which includes my newest transcript/GPA and I’ll find out in 8-12 weeks if I’ve been admitted for the Fall 2008 semester, crosses fingers!

That’s cool you’re taking classes, I hope they don’t overwhelm you too much with the work. Retaking the Fs is probably a great idea too. Hopefully you make it into the school you want. *crossing fingers for you*
