My mom had the same thing that your mom has, heel spurs. At least I think that's what they were. She ended up having to have surgery, but it was really quick and easy. But I hope it doesn't come to that for your mom! I feel you on the Christmas thing too. I don't even have a job due to school while my boyfriend works 40+ hours a week.
