Pink for October.
When people think of October, they think about ghost and ghouls, pumpkins and scarecrows, orange and black, candy and 
trick or treating, everything Halloween; but did you know that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month? I have decided to participate in Pink for October to show my support for breast cancer awareness. For the month of October, my theme will be entirely based off the color pink as it’s the easiest and simplest thing I can do to show my support and all that is required to show your support along with Pink for October.
Why am I showing my support? Because according to the National Cancer Institute, the estimated amount of new breast cancer cases in 2007 is expected to be around 178,480 for females and 2,030 for males (yes, men can get breast cancer too!). Of those cases, it is estimated that 40,460 females and 450 males will die from the disease. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death, behind lung cancer, in women and while breast cancer has not affected me personally or anyone that I know personally every female is still at risk and it is important that they get screened yearly for any abnormalities. I urge you, if you run a website to participate in Pink for October even if it’s to simply say “Hey…I support this cause!” So look for a pink based theme coming October 1st

I did this last year but I really didn’t have to change anything about my blog design since it’s pink all year! *hehe*
