I just got back from a late night run at Arby’s and let me tell you…it was rather interesting. As I was driving through the parking lot, headed towards the drive thru I noticed two white men standing next to the order speaker; one was jumping up and down trying to get the beeper (you know, the beeper that goes off when a car drives up to let the employee know someone wants to order) to go off in the building, obviously it wasn’t working.
So I pulled up, expecting them to just move out of the way and they did…a little. I drove forward and as soon as the employee came over the speaker one of the guys jumped in front and starting giving his order, I was like okay OBVIOUSLY they are drunk off their asses. The guy took the order and said pull forward, obviously they weren’t in a car and they were too drunk to know what was really going on and so they just stood there. Eventually, the guy came back on the speaker and I told him to disregard the order completely, I was able to put my order through and drove around to the window; I told the guy, who happened to be a manager, that there were a group of drunk people standing around the order speaker (there is a bar right behind the Arby’s). He said thanks and took my money.
While, I’m waiting for my food the same drunk guy who had just ordered the food walked up and asked me if I got the sandwiches, I was like no…he was so busy running his mouth that when the manager walked up with my bag of food, he looked at me, then looked at the wall (the drunk was standing on the side of building out of sight from the drive thru window) because he could hear someone talking, looked back at me and I nodded and he walked away…I don’t know if he called someone or if the OTHER drunk guy was on the other side of the building but about 5 minutes later, the drunks buddy walked up and said let’s go and they walked away. The manager gave me my food and thanked me for being patient. I left and passed the drunk Irish walking down the road on the way home, I laughed. Freakin’ drunks!
